In the Wake of the North Wind.

In the Wake of the North Wind - a sailing expedition through the untouched beauty of East Greenland. A cinematic documentation of our life on board a wooden two mast schooner named Ópal, navigating through the largest fjord system of the world: Scoresby Sund at 71° North! This fjord system along with the small settlement of Ittoqqortoormiit, is one of the most remote places on Earth.
An intimidating experience in the high Arctic, as our boat gave us a feeling of how adventurous and tough expeditions must have been like back in the days. A trip that exceeded all our expectations. The Scoresby Sound, Kangertittivaq in Greenlandic, left us all in awe!

Getting Lost In The North.

Our journey through the North was nothing short of exciting. A journey without an idea or schedule and no straight lines - just like life is meant to be. We spent 6 months exploring the Arctic Regions of Norway, Sweden and Finland to find that one place and get lost in the moment. And we found it! Here's a brief recap of these months in the Arctic! From torrential downpours to beautiful moments of midnight sun above a sea of clouds. This year we had it all.

East Greenland.

There is something unique about remote places - they capture your imagination and make you dream and wonder. One of those places is known as the last frontier: Greenland. A country bordered by oceans and covered almost all year round in ice. In May I had the chance to go on an expedition to the wild East Coast with Ponant and Le Commandant Charcot. An unbelievable 14 days journey along the wild and remote coast.

iceland.

A roadtrip through the land of fire and ice - Iceland. A three episode series covering our journey through Denmark, Iceland and the Faroe Islands in a cinematic way. From deep valleys to high rising mountains, lush green areas to almost lifeless wasteland, volcanoes to glaciers - Iceland is one of the most surreal countries with an alien planet like landscape.

northbound - a roadtrip story.

A cinematic approach of our 2020 roadtrip through Norway. In this cinematic mini-series we head out in the search for some of the most unique and beautiful places in the very North and the far East of Norway. The journey takes us far beyond our know places, almost to the Russian border. And whats a good road trip without breaking down and completely throwing over the plan? A boring one!

Kamchatka.

A place with so little living, yet so alive - Kamchatka is a wild place in the Far East of Russia. A peninsula with no road connection to the mainland, a remote country, a place where nature still rules. Together with an international group of photographers and local guides, Max Münch and I held a two weeks outdoor photography trip. We spent most nights in a tent on location, exploring the raw beauty of this place.

Northbound- Towards the midnight sun.

A self converted van, 5 weeks and no particular route. Often the most beautiful moments in travel happen like that - no bucket list, and no screenshots queued up. Just a direction and the promise to ourselves to enjoy it as much as possible. In summer 2019 Natascha and I headed out for the far North. As nights faded into days, we hiked a new mountain almost everyday, camped or bivvied in the most amazing spots and simply treated our soul with the silence from the landscape and slow mornings with great coffees.
